The dedication to providing a variety of content and engaging storytelling is evident in the descriptions of new regions and adversaries. Players can anticipate engaging in epic battles, solving puzzles, and exploring the mysteries of the TL world. The commitment to listening to player feedback and refining the game based on their input is a testament to the developer's dedication to delivering an outstanding gaming experience.
On the 21st of September 2023, Jongok Ahn, the producer of TL (Throne and Liberty), released the much-anticipated second part of his Producer's Letter. In case you missed the first part, you can find it here. This new installment delves deep into what players can expect to encounter in Throne and Liberty after reaching level 30. Here is a full translation of the producer's letter, offering insights into Bosses, Hunting Zones, and Party Dungeons.
Greetings, I am Jongok Ahn, the producer behind THRONE AND LIBERTY. As I stroll down Pangyo Street on a chilly evening, I can't help but notice the changing of seasons. How are all of you doing? Since my initial letter, I've witnessed a tremendous amount of interest and concern. I'm sincerely appreciative of your support and encouragement, and I'm taking your feedback to heart. Some aspects can only be fully understood within the game, so please stay tuned. We're committed to doing our best.
Today, as I mentioned in my previous letter, I'd like to provide you with a glimpse of the content that remained concealed during the beta phase. What kind of adventures await you as a fledgling resistance fighter? Brace yourselves to confront even mightier adversaries, such as the formidable Malachar, known as the Eye of Death. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, where the supreme god Odin sacrificed an eye in exchange for the wisdom held beneath the World Tree Yggdrasil, Throne and Liberty introduces a character who willingly gave up an eye to gain limitless knowledge.
Junobot, one of Silabeth's devoted minions, makes a Faustian deal with the Archdemon, bartering his eye for forbidden knowledge. Under the malevolent sway of the Archdemon, this eye morphs into a monstrous sentinel, overseeing the fates of adventurers in the Enchanted Wastes. The Eye of Death, an enigmatic interdimensional entity, is known for summoning its own doppelgänger across alternate dimensions. Survival against the overwhelming power of Malachar depends on intercepting the energy beams fired by this alter ego. Prolonged exposure to these beams could be perilous, so exercise caution.
Remember the unforgettable Queen Blendy from the beta, an imposing adversary that necessitated the collaborative efforts of an entire server's player base for a successful takedown? Well, get ready to face another formidable challenge in Throne and Liberty: Archboss Tevent. Once a court wizard who succumbed to madness, Tevent was resurrected as a colossal skeleton by an enigmatic force. This character boasts formidable physical attacks and wields black magic and potent curses as a mage. Tevent, the mightiest creature in the world, cannot be vanquished through simple means, as his curses react to water. His lair is encircled by a circular moat, which must be purified from these curses using the pristine water that flows through it. On rainy days, the rising water level makes access more feasible. But beware, as the curse can also contaminate the water, posing its own set of challenges.
This sneak peek only scratches the surface of the captivating adventures that lie beyond level 30 in Throne and Liberty. We're eager to unite with you in this vast TL universe and unveil even more engaging content.
A Boundless Realm: Unveiling the Wonders of Throne and Liberty's Expansive World
In Throne and Liberty's vast continent, countless tales are yet to be unveiled. Join us on a journey through some of the regions and their captivating narratives. Explore the Fornos Basin and the Valley of the Orcs, where the fierce Fornos Orcs reside. The Rathlan Watch remains ever vigilant, for no one can predict when the orcs might rampage. The scent of battle looms heavy in the air. Here, within the orc's domain, your return unscathed is far from guaranteed. Brace yourself for the whistling of flying axes and the fury of fireballs. In Fornos, you'll bear witness to the awe-inspiring ritual of eclipse summoning. What unfolds in an orc barracks under the shroud of night? Periodically, the Fornos Basin is illuminated by otherworldly fires. Attend local events to witness these fiery festivities.
Venture into the Grayclaw Forest, the abode of the Lycan Kowanjukis, the forest's original inhabitants. They've relinquished half of their territory to human settlements and continue to clash fiercely with the resistance. The great northern bridge in Grayclaw Forest lies in ruins, a topic the Kowanjukis avoid discussing. Yet, perhaps you'll unearth the forest's enigmatic secret. Among the Kowanjukis, their leader stands as the mightiest and boldest warrior, but his greatest fear is a human girl... why? The Lycans' ferocity intensifies in the vicinity of the Moonstone. To halt their aggression, you must unite in the quest to find the Moonstone.
Journey to the Forbidden Zone, a place known as Lizard Island. This volcanic island, situated off the Stoneguard coast, is not for the faint of heart. Inhabited by a tribe of Lizards that traverse both land and sea, they are infamous for their belligerence, often leading to shipwrecks for those who dare to sail nearby. If you manage to set foot on the island, brace yourself for a challenging environment. Confront rampaging reptilians and venomous flora. What thrilling adventures await in this perilous domain? Conventional means cannot take you to Lizard Island. The sole path to reach it is by air, but can you find a way to navigate these tumultuous waters?
Delving into diversity has been a key focus of Throne and Liberty's evolution. Our content has been meticulously balanced to provide challenges for players of all skill levels. We've already introduced extensive features such as the Adventure & Exploration Codex, and the solo-oriented Tower of Tydal. For those who revel in massive community gameplay, we've presented Siege and Archboss. Today, we are thrilled to unveil Party Instance Dungeons, thoughtfully tailored for six-player cooperative adventures.
Introducing Party Instance Dungeons: A Thrilling Challenge Awaits
Party Instance Dungeons are designed to retain the essence of cooperative gameplay that field dungeons were created for, albeit with more stringent conditions and heightened challenges. Drawing from my experience and expertise in crafting instance dungeons for Blade & Soul, I'm personally overseeing this exciting feature. These Breach Party Instance dungeons are thoughtfully structured into two parts: the "Breach," which leads to the climactic boss encounter, and the "boss section" where the true action unfolds. Our goal is to ensure that every segment of the dungeon is captivating, ensuring that the breach phase isn't overshadowed by the ensuing boss battle.
Our approach to dungeon design is straightforward. Party Instance dungeons are geared toward delivering the thrill of classic team-based combat. You and your comrades will collaborate as a unit to attract, bewitch, and eliminate your adversaries, although each section won't be excessively lengthy. We're meticulously balancing the dungeon's complexity and the challenge level to avoid it becoming an exercise in futility. Moreover, each dungeon will feature a distinctive element that demands a novel approach, such as puzzle-solving rather than a straightforward combat progression. The difficulty will be approachable enough not to disrupt the flow of gameplay while infusing it with an appealing quirkiness through interactions within the game world.
The pièce de résistance of Party Instance dungeons lies within the boss sections, demanding the coordination of a six-member party to conquer a controlled environment. The confined setting necessitates meticulous strategic planning, and we're eagerly anticipating enhancing gameplay variability through various weapon combinations—a core system in our game. Unlike field bosses that can be engaged by any nearby players, these encounters are designed to evoke the tension and exhilaration that accompany heightened difficulty levels. Our party instance dungeon bosses are formidable foes, especially if you seek a challenge that leaves you both exhilarated and yearning for more.
Heliver, the Guide of the Abyss, is another intriguing character. Created by dark magic, he has transformed an ancient catacomb into his own sinister laboratory, known as the Abyss of Sileus. This labyrinth houses both immortal entities and demons, and Sileus has bequeathed his power to his loyal minion, Heliver, to serve as a guide through this nightmarish realm. Heliver assumes the role of a guide through the Abyss, but he's also a grim reaper, leading all intruders to their doom. Heliver's modus operandi is eerie and relentless, as he selects a single target from any group attacking him and focuses his deadly intent on that victim. He frequently deploys area-of-effect (AoE) magic, capable of obliterating the marked target instantly. Survival is only possible if fellow allies rush into the danger zone to distribute the incoming damage. Failure to save your comrades from Heliver's deadly assault may result in your own untimely demise.
And there you have it, a glimpse into the world of TL and the adventures that await after reaching level 30. We're eager to encounter all the individuals who will embark on this journey within the TL universe. While there are aspects we couldn't cover due to space constraints, we're looking forward to unveiling the rest of your adventures within the game.
In my previous message, I mentioned that I've been contemplating ways to engage with you. You can now post your game-related queries and development inquiries on the Talk to TL forum. I'll dedicate my time to provide clarity on any questions you may have, and shed light on the content that has piqued everyone's curiosity. Subsequently, I'll return to my diligent work on the game, hoping to reconnect with you all sooner rather than later.
As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering interest.
Best regards, Jongok Ahn Producer of THRONE AND LIBERTY
