The Haunted Labyrinth is a limited-time co-op dungeon in Throne and Liberty, available during the Haunted Harvest event from October 25 to November 13. In this spooky maze, players face off against an army of ghostly creatures, eerie pumpkins, and a formidable final boss, Lord Embergourd. This guide will walk you through each battle and new mechanic to help you complete the dungeon efficiently.
To enter the Haunted Labyrinth, you’ll need Candy Corn, which can be acquired upon logging in or purchased from the roaming Haunted Peddler. Completing this dungeon is essential for unlocking exclusive Halloween-themed items, including the Pumpkin Lord Headpiece, Jack-o'-Lantern Izzy Amitoi, and Punky Pumpkin Morph.
Mob Guide
The Haunted Labyrinth starts with narrow corridors guarded by various pumpkin-themed mobs. Here’s a breakdown of each type:
- Pumpkin Archers
These enemies are dangerous ranged attackers who target random players, occasionally using a Fury Attack that must be blocked or dodged. The tank should gather melee mobs and pull them to the Archers, while DPS focuses on taking them down quickly. - Pumpkin Lancer
A melee enemy wielding a large spear, following the tank with aggro. Tanks should lead these to any Archers, or stack them with other melee enemies. - Pumpkin Shield Soldier
A melee mob with a shield and sword, capable of crowd-controlling the aggroed player. They are not particularly threatening as long as the tank manages them. - Pumpkin Head Harvester
Fairly easy melee mobs that occasionally use a Fury Attack. As long as the tank controls them, they don’t pose much risk. - Pumpkin Mandrakes
These weak mobs spawn when players interact with pumpkins in specific sections of the dungeon. They should be managed and stacked with other mobs for efficient combat.
Important: All mobs in the Haunted Labyrinth explode a few seconds after death, dealing 3,000 damage to anyone nearby. Be mindful of this mechanic to avoid unexpected damage.
Haunted Labyrinth Walkthrough
- Dungeon Entrance
Start by clearing the initial pumpkin enemies in the corridor. Then, you’ll reach a room filled with pumpkins, where you’ll need to search for a key to open the door. Interacting with pumpkins may spawn Pumpkin Mandrakes, so stay alert. - Pumpkin Cart Refueling
After finding the key, you’ll go on a Pumpkin Cart ride over a chasm. Once you reach the other side, collect three pumpkins to refuel the cart. Locate these pumpkins by finding the icons above them. Keep in mind that carrying a pumpkin prevents door access, so teamwork is essential. - First Room
After entering the first room, fight through an Archer and a Lancer, then head up the stairs to a room filled with pumpkins. Interact with pumpkins to find the exit key, but beware—the pumpkins may transform into Pumpkin Mandrakes, and nearby Harvesters will awaken to attack. - Pumpkin Wagon Ride
After the first room, enter the Pumpkin Wagon, which will transport your team to the next area. Along the way, two Pumpkin Lancers will swoop in for a Fury Attack, and anyone who fails to block it will be knocked out of the wagon. - Wagon Refueling
To proceed further, you’ll need to refuel the wagon again by collecting three more pumpkins. One is located in the nearby outdoor area, while two additional pumpkins can be found after defeating the Pumpkin Lancer and Shield Soldier on the stairs. Activate the gate to access a side room, collect the pumpkins, and ensure everyone is on the wagon before using the activation device to continue.
By mastering these mechanics and coordinating effectively, your team can complete the Haunted Labyrinth with minimal difficulty. Enjoy the thrill and claim your Halloween rewards!
Mini-Boss: Pumpkin Watch Captain
The Pumpkin Watch Captain is the first mini-boss in the Haunted Labyrinth dungeon, and while he's relatively straightforward, players should be cautious of a few unique mechanics during the encounter.
- Pumpkin Spawn: Throughout the fight, the captain summons three haunted pumpkins that chase players. If a player becomes entrapped by one of these pumpkins, they can break free by stepping into one of the grave areas scattered around the arena. If they don't make it to a grave in time, they'll be trapped inside a "pumpkin prison," and teammates will need to free them by attacking the prison.
Puzzle Section: The Pumpkin Indiana Jones Challenge
In this iconic puzzle inspired by the Indiana Jones boulder scene, each player transforms into a rolling pumpkin. Large, deadly pumpkins roll down the hallway, instantly killing anyone they hit. Players must dodge floor marks and seek shelter in doorways as the boulders roll by. Timing is key—study the movement patterns to avoid taking damage.
Only one player needs to complete this puzzle for the whole team to proceed. Once the first player reaches the end, they can open the respawn location in the boss room for everyone else to regroup.
The Second Area and First Boss Encounter
After leaving the Pumpkin Wagon, players will encounter a group of mobs. Here's the recommended strategy for managing these enemies effectively:
- Mob Strategy: The tank should focus on drawing the melee enemies (Pumpkin Lancers and Pumpkin Shield Soldier) toward the Pumpkin Archers, allowing DPS players to eliminate the Archers first. Pumpkin Archers will use powerful Fury Attacks, so blocking these attacks will reduce the risk of casualties.
This area is guarded by an AoE on the exit stairs that makes skipping these mobs impossible.
First Boss Fight: Pumpkin Watch Captain
Now, the first main boss encounter begins. While not exceedingly difficult, it requires each player to stay vigilant and aware of the Pumpkin Watch Captain's attack patterns:
- Basic Projectile Attack: Every few seconds, the Pumpkin Watch Captain will target the player with aggro, launching projectiles that deal high damage to players with low defense. Tanks should maintain aggro to minimize risk.
- Pumpkin Throw: The boss occasionally throws a pumpkin that bounces across the arena. These bouncing pumpkins can hit players multiple times if not avoided. Stay alert, especially if health is already low.
- Pumpkin Chase: The boss signals, “Don’t lose your gourd,” as three large floating pumpkins spawn and chase random players. Each pumpkin has a damaging AoE circle around it, causing significant harm over time. Players who are targeted should kite their pumpkins, being careful not to cross paths with others.
- Fire Cone Attack: The Pumpkin Watch Captain telegraphs a wide, conal AoE attack that deals fire damage. Move quickly out of the area once you see the indicator to avoid damage.
- Fury Attack and Shockwave: The boss occasionally pulls players into the center of the arena and unleashes a powerful Fury Attack shockwave. Blocking this shockwave is crucial, as it inflicts heavy damage on anyone caught unprepared.
These mechanics require coordination and timing but, with practice, can be efficiently managed to bring down the Pumpkin Watch Captain and progress through the Haunted Labyrinth.
The Pumpkin Gauntlet
The Pumpkin Gauntlet is often one of the most challenging sections in the Haunted Labyrinth dungeon. After defeating the Pumpkin Watch Captain, the blue AoE barrier on the stairs will dissipate, and players can ascend to a long corridor.
Mechanics:
- Rolling Pumpkins: The corridor has two large pumpkins that move back and forth. If one of these pumpkins touches a player, they will be instantly killed and need to restart.
- Doorways for Safety: Players can sprint through the hallway but should use the doorways along the edges as safe zones whenever a rolling pumpkin gets close.
- Ground Traps: Additional traps are scattered along the floor. Avoid these traps while focusing on the pumpkins' timing and movement.
Once one player reaches the corridor’s end, they can deactivate both the pumpkins and traps, allowing the rest of the group to pass safely.
Final Boss: Lord Embergourd
Lord Embergourd is the final boss of the Haunted Labyrinth, boasting high health but a manageable difficulty level. Key to this encounter are his mechanics, which can wipe out the team if mishandled.
Embergourd’s Abilities and Mechanics:
1. Basic Attack: Similar to the Pumpkin Watch Captain, Embergourd frequently throws a fireball at the player holding aggro.
2. Fire Circles: Embergourd will draw players into the arena’s center, then summon a fire AoE around him. Players should quickly exit the circle to avoid heavy damage. After a few seconds, this AoE changes into a larger, donut-shaped AoE that hits the red area, sparing players in the inner and outer sections.
3. Fire Lines: When Embergourd says, "Trick or be eaten," lines of fire fill two connected lines on the ground, forming a cone. Players must stay out of these areas as the cone can inflict substantial damage.
4. Meteor Bombs: Embergourd will call out, "I'll teach you a lesson," as he summons three AoEs on the ground. Players should avoid these zones, as bombs will drop within them. Alternatively, players can knock the bombs toward Embergourd to deal extra damage.
5. Fury Attack: Embergourd charges up a massive projectile attack aimed at all players. To minimize damage, everyone should block or use defensive abilities.
6. Pumpkin Wall: A wall of pumpkins will emerge from the back of the room, with certain pumpkins glowing. Players must run into a glowing pumpkin to transform temporarily, which protects them from the advancing wall. Non-glowing pumpkins deal damage and push players back. After several walls, Embergourd unleashes a powerful explosion that will instantly kill any players not in pumpkin form.
7. Fly Transformation: Embergourd’s phrase, "You nasty pests," signals the transformation of players into giant flies. He then periodically releases shockwaves that stun players. To survive this phase, reach the green circle around Embergourd to return to human form and shield yourself from his final explosion. Any players left outside the green circle will be eliminated.
Lord Embergourd’s Repeating Phases
Embergourd cycles through these mechanics until his health is fully depleted. Once defeated, the Haunted Labyrinth is complete! Be sure to open the pumpkin chest for loot before leaving.
