With these promising updates, Throne and Liberty is making strides to address player concerns and improve its overall gaming experience. The absence of autoplay, pay-to-win elements, and the focus on territorial control battles contribute to a more engaging and dynamic MMORPG.

Alexander Leitch, editor of MeinMMO, had the opportunity to play Throne and Liberty at Gamescom 2023 and interview Merv Lee Kwai from Amazon Games. We are all well aware of the primary concerns surrounding the Western release of Throne and Liberty. Fortunately, it appears that many of these issues, such as the static combat system, pay-to-win (P2W) elements, and autoplay features, are being addressed by the developers. Several positive indicators suggest that player feedback has been heard, and efforts to enhance the game are underway.

Additional insights from Gamescom 2023 reveal that Throne and Liberty has suddenly become more promising. The key changes introduced include improvements in PVP dynamics, the removal of autoplay, and the absence of P2W elements. The global version of Throne and Liberty will predominantly feature a PVE world, with periodic PVP modes activated every 2-3 days for specific zones. Prior announcements will notify players when an area will become a PVP zone. PVP will also be available during certain world boss encounters and events, designated by a distinctive ring. If you avoid entering this ring, you will not be flagged for PVP, although accidental PVP encounters may still occur.

Merv Lee Kwai affirmed that the Western version of the game will not include unrestricted nighttime PVP, with associated karma systems and limitations. However, some dungeons accessible only at night will inherently involve PVP encounters. Amazon is currently experimenting with pure PVE dungeons, indicating a subtle shift in Throne and Liberty's PVP focus. Nevertheless, Merv emphasized that Throne and Liberty will remain a PVP-oriented MMORPG.

An exciting aspect of the game is the open-world territorial control battles, where multiple guilds can engage in conflicts and take sides. However, the dynamics also allow for betrayals among guilds, introducing intrigue and unpredictability. Castles will serve as pivotal points for territorial sieges, with a single castle available in the game and sieges scheduled every two weeks. Guilds can form alliances to avoid friendly fire during sieges, and these alliances can be dissolved even during battles. The taxation system adds an interesting twist, where the victorious guild in a siege receives taxes from various territories. To claim this income, they must transport the taxes from outposts to their castle, leaving room for other guilds to potentially raid and steal the funds.

In the global version of Throne and Liberty, autoplay is notably absent. One of the most significant changes is the complete removal of autoplay, although this is not set in stone. Amazon has disabled autoplay entirely but will monitor player feedback to determine the future of this feature.

Amazon assures that the global version of Throne and Liberty will not feature pay-to-win elements in their in-game store. An example provided is a special token that allows players to continue farming for eight hours after logging out. This item will not be present in the global version of Throne and Liberty.

Amazon Games is showing a keen interest in a console version of Throne and Liberty. The console version will be available for testing in the near future, with hopes of launching both PC and console versions simultaneously. Cross-play between platforms will also be supported.

Regarding the combat system, it is known that concerns about static combat have been addressed and improved by NCSoft. Alexander Leitch had the opportunity to test the new combat system for 30 minutes but has not yet provided feedback. Hopefully, a more comprehensive review will be available soon.

In addition, a few general points include the limit of enhancing green items up to +6, while rarer items can be improved up to +12. The enhancement process may fail, but the item will not break or downgrade in quality. Players will also have the opportunity to craft their own equipment.
