More information emerges regarding the delay of the Throne and Liberty game release from the third quarter of 2023 to the fourth. While there have been no official statements from NCSOFT yet, the regulator Hana Securities has lowered NC's target price due to the postponement of the release date.
The release date for Throne and Liberty is reportedly being postponed from the third quarter of 2023 to the fourth, according to information from the Korean portal Sedaily. If this information is accurate, players may not get their hands on the game until October of this year. While NCSOFT has not provided an official statement regarding the delay, reports suggest that Hana Securities, a significant organization in South Korea, has lowered NC's target price due to the launch delay. Additionally, an analyst has raised concerns about the game's design, which could impact its monetization and potentially deter paying players.
Yeji Yoon, in light of feedback from the game's domestic Closed Beta Test (CBT) and the global CBT's progress, stated, "We have changed our expected release date from the end of the third quarter to the fourth quarter." After participating in the CBT, the analyst observed a significant shift in the game's business model, citing a "very low charging rate" compared to current lineage games. Although the inclusion of auto-hunting hasn't entirely removed the mobile game feel, the analyst suggests that improving elements like the main quest, special dungeons, and guild raid content could broaden the user base compared to existing Lineage games.
