Throne and Liberty developers shared insights into their approach to content development, their commitment to considering player feedback, and their aim to create a unified global version of the game. They emphasized that the global version may not differ significantly from the Korean one, as they work to minimize regional variations.
At the Summer Game Fest event, developers of Throne and Liberty were interviewed by mmorpg.com. Merv Lee Kwai from Amazon Games, Moonseop Lee, Design Director at NCSOFT, and Jongok Ahn, Lead Producer, shared insights on Throne and Liberty. They discussed the disparities between the Korean and Global versions, the outcomes of the beta testing, and more.
Ahn revealed that the extended development period aimed to amass ample content before the release, ensuring that users wouldn't leave due to a lack of new material. He emphasized their preparation of diverse and substantial content, believing the game is now nearly ready.
Regarding feedback from the latest CBT and player comments about the combat system and auto-play feature, they assured players that their input is being carefully considered. However, it appears the global version won't significantly deviate from the Korean one. Ahn explained that Korean MMOs are typically released in their home regions for a year or two before being launched in the West, with some westernization adjustments. They're striving to minimize such alterations. Thus, their collaboration with NCSOFT focuses on crafting a unified global version of Throne and Liberty, rather than segmented versions for various regions.
The developers see Throne and Liberty's global and Korean versions as a cohesive whole, not as two distinct entities. Ahn and Kwai confirmed that their post-CBT priorities are improvements to combat mechanics and progression. With feedback from players, the upcoming Throne and Liberty Tech Test, conducted by Amazon Games, may introduce some changes based on the community's input.
