The uncertainty surrounding Throne and Liberty's release date continues to fuel speculation, with the latest reports pointing towards a potential delay until October.
Recent reports from Korean media, citing inside sources at NCSoft, suggest that Throne and Liberty's release may indeed be delayed, with a global Closed Beta Test (CBT) anticipated in May. According to these sources, Throne and Liberty is now expected to launch in October 2023, encompassing both the Korean and global versions, which are distributed by Amazon Games. Additionally, it is said that a CBT is in the works for the end of May, covering South Korea and America, although participation criteria remain undisclosed.
The decision to postpone the release of Throne and Liberty followed internal deliberations at NCSoft, with not all team members initially in agreement. Senior Vice President Kim Taek-heon, overseeing NCSoft's business, advocated for the delay to the second half of the year.
Korean media reports that NC and Amazon Games have initiated collaboration discussions, with the intention to synchronize their service openings as much as possible, despite no initial plans for a simultaneous release. The potential delay in Throne and Liberty's release date is attributed to NCSoft's partnership with Amazon Games and the competitive release of Diablo IV, although no official announcement has been made.
Notably, additional leaks emerged recently, with one coming from an alpha tester who shared details from the internal Alpha Test, in defiance of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Furthermore, the system requirements for Throne and Liberty appeared online, although their authenticity has not been officially confirmed.
